Government College University GCU Lahore has started two-day training of position-holders across the country under the sponsorships of its Quality Enhancement Cell. The purpose of organization of training session is to improve the skills of students in communication, collaboration and questioning. From June 22, 2014 the position holders will visit the European universities under the Chief Minister’s initiative. The inaguation ceremony was presided over by Prof (Meritorious) Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman Vice Chancellor GCU Lahore while Punjab Secretary Higher Education Abdullah Sumbal also addressed. The Secretary Higher Education informed the candidates regarding the history of Europe and traditions and cultures of different European nations.
GCU VC Prof Rahman said on this occasion that toppers across the country would visit the leading universities of the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden this year and they will meet the famous scholars, scientists of world. He praised the Chief Minister’s steps to improve the educational standards. Over 19 universities including Oxford, Cambridge and the University of Manchester will be included in the tour and these position holders will be walking ambassadors of Pakistan.
GCU Quality Enhancement Cell Iram Sohail informed the position holders regarding European universities, while English Department Assistant Professor Sadiq Awan, Director General Protocol Asjad Ghani, Dr Zafar Iqbal Qureshi and other academicians also addressed on the occasion.
