Nawaz Sharif accused of taking revenge from Pervez Musharaf

Hundreds of All-Pakistan Muslim League activists continued their protest on Tuesday for the second consecutive day against the arrest of APML Sialkot District President Muhammad Bilal Gondal by the Sialkot Airport Police in an old case of six murders here in Sambrial city.

The protesting activists kept the traffic blocked on main Sialkot-Sambrial-Wazirabad Road near Saahowala for an hour by burning tyres. They also staged a sit-in on the road and chanted anti-police slogans, demanding immediate release of the APML District President. Later, talking to the newsmen at Uggoki, the protesting APML activists alleged that the APML Sialkot district office bearers and workers were allegedly being harassed and victimized politically by the district police on the directives of the PML-N government. They revealed that APML Sialkot district president had contested 2013 general elections against PML-N candidate due to which now the local elected representatives allegedly were settling scores by implicating him in an old case of six murders registered at Sialkot Airport Police station. They also demanded end to political victimization of the APML office-bearers and activists and early release of arrested Bilal Gondal.

Drizzling, cold winds lash Sialkot: The Sialkot region on Tuesday received light rain as cold winds coming from neighbouring icy Alps of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir continuously blew which made the weather much cold here. It remained dark cloudy for the whole day.

While several urban and rural parts in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur especially the far-off bordering areas along the Sialkot Working Boundary remained blanketed by fog.

Reportedly, there was a shortage of fodder as severe cold, dense fog and mist had badly affected the fodder crops in rural parts of the district, especially in the bordering villages. Local farmers have been suffering from great difficulties in arranging fodder for their cattle while gas outages coupled with electricity loadshedding forced people to arrange for alternative fuel to keep themselves warm. Notorious PO captured: The police claimed to have arrest a notorious proclaimed offender (PO) namely Shoaib alias Shoaibi.

Sialkot SP (Investigations) Asad Sarfraz Khan told the newsmen that the police arrested the PO from a hideout in the outskirts of Sialkot. He said that the PO was wanted by police in more than 16 cases of murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping for ransom, robbery and dacoity and was bearing Rs0.2 million as head money announced by the Punjab government.
