Online courses search engine to be launched in Pakistan by HEC

The former chairman of the Higher Education Commission Pakistan, Dr Prof Atta-ur-Rahman has briefed that soon Pakistan will be among the countries having quality of education on combined online platform and hence the detail of all the courses and curriculum will be provided online with the support of top world class universities. He revealed this on the Second National Conference on Space Science.

He further said that search engine is on final stage and it will guide the candidates about the best available free online courses. The Hussain Ebrahim Jamal (HEJ) Institute of Chemistry will take the initiative and best available programs will be pointed out through this search engine like MIT open courseware, Udacity, Coursera, Virtual University of Pakista, Khan Academy, and other courses. The project is being completed with the collaboration of international universities like MIT and Harvard and after its inauguration these universities will also support to provide the educational material which will also be beneficial for other countries of the world, he added.

After its beginning Pakistan will stand first among the other countries in provision of online educational material on a single platform.
