Pakistan excels in Junior Davis Cup Final

KARACHI: Pakistan put up a commendable performance while routing second seed Singapore 2-1 to advance into junior Davis Cup final in Kuching, Malaysia, on Friday.

According to results made available here, Pakistan will now play Vietnam in the final. By virtue of making it to the final, Pakistan have for the first time qualified for main round of Asian qualifying to be held in Kuching next month.

Meanwhile, Pakistan rounded off their engagements in junior Fed Cup inflicting a 3-0 defeat on Jordon to finish third among six teams.


Junior Davis Cup (Boys under-14):
Pakistan bt Singapore 2-1
Singles: Mohammad Muzzamil bt Timothy Kuah 4-6, 6-2, 5-1(retired); Nofil Kaleem bt Tzeming Law 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. Doubles: Abdal Haider/Mohammad Muzzamil lost to Enzo Chua/Tzeming Law 3-6, 0-6.
Junior Fed Cup (Girls under-16):
Pakistan bt Jordan 3-0
Singles: Rida bt Alice Muasher 7-5, 6-2; Iman bt Rama Bageen 6-0, 6-1. Doubles: Iman/Rida bt Alice/Rama 6-0, 6-1.
