LAHORE: Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) degrees were awarded to Assistant Professors of Botany at the Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Alya Maimoona and Zeb Saddiqe.
LCWU sources say Maimoona completed her thesis titled “Isolation of antihypertensive compound from polar extracts of bark and needles of pinus roxburghil and P.wallichiana”, while Saddiqe undertook her research thesis titled “Isolation and characterisation of antibiotics against MDR bacteria from hypericaceae” under the supervision of Prof Dr Ismat Naeem. Alya Maimoona had nine of her research papers published in international journals with 26 citations besides presenting two papers in international conferences.
