Kuala Lumpur: Syed Faiq Najeeb, a Pakistani student has been awarded with the President’s award as he got the highest CGPA in graduation at the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), Malaysia for the academic year 2012-13.
Faiq clinched this award on Oct 05, 2013 for the ‘Best Student of the Year’ for Masters in Islamic Finance (MIF) by getting 3.98 CGPA which is the utmost ever in the history of university. Moreover he finalized his graduation in 16 months instead of 24 months-program.
The President’s Award was given by the Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.
On his great success Faiq said that it was done because of prayers of his family and friends for the overall support during the course of this journey. However, this was not the goal and its importance is secondary the main goal set by me is to enhance and promote the Islamic financial system all around the world as I consider it a more strong and dependable financial system, he said.
Before getting this degree, Faiq has gotten BA (Hons) degree in International Business Management from the University of Nottingham. From the start he has concentration in Islamic Finance when he was occupied as a research analyst in his undergraduate alma mater.
Later he got the award of scholarship from the Bank Negara Malaysia to continue his MIF at INCEIF. Now he is working with KFH Research Limited as a research analyst with a group of Islamic Finance.
INCEIF was established by Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia) which has the distinction of only university around the world that is committed to provide advanced study in Islamic Finance.
