Lahore: To enable the young generation to get education by providing different facilities has been initiated by Punjab government as Prime Minister’s Program for Youth. The purpose of different programs is to provide openings in different fields to avail good opportunities of skills, employment, economic empowerment and other facilities which can be beneficial for youth.
The different programs have been started as PM’s Qarz e Hasana Scheme, PM’s Youth Skills Development Scheme, PM’s Small Business Loans Scheme, PM’s Scheme for Provision of Laptops, PM’s Youth Training Scheme and PM’s Scheme for Reimbursement of Fee of students from the Less Development Areas.
The Qarz-e-Hasana (Micro Interest Free Loans) program aims to assist the industry to progress from the current level of 2.5 million people to 5.0 million in next 5 years. Under PM’s Youth Skills Development Scheme, the training will be provided to unemployed youth of Pakistan to master over productive skills for future developments. The eligibility criteria lie on the young male and female generation up to age 25 with middle level of education.
The laptop scheme will benefit those students who are registered in an HEC approved educational institutions. All masters/doctoral students and 50% under-graduate students will get the laptop.
The program PM’s Scheme for Reimbursement of Fee of students aimed to encourage the youth having higher education. Under this scheme the scholarships will be provided to post graduate degrees (MA, MSc or higher level) belonging to far-flung and under-privileged areas of the country. The tuition fee of selected students will be paid directly to the relevant university. Students can give suggestion on all these six schemes till Oct 03, 2013.
