Hamdard University has organized its 17th convocation at Madinat al-Hikmah and awarded 1330 degrees to all seven facilities including PhDs and MPhils.
Gold medals were also awarded to 37 talented students who have taken first positions throughout their academic careers. Dr Javed Leghari, Dr Shami and Sadia Rashid, Chancellor, Hamdard University was chief guest and presented gold medals to passing graduates.
Leghari further said that Hamdard University is an established university and known for its quality of education and objectives set by its visionary and fascinating founder, Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said.
He said that main purpose of Higher Education Commission (HEC) is to enhance the quality of education and enrollments. HEC has got achievements to attain this goal, he said.
Meanwhile, Bahria University Karachi Campus has organized its 9th convocation on Sunday.
Gold and silver medals were presented to brilliant students for their outstanding achievements in their academic career.
Pro-Chancellor of Bahria University and Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila NI(M) were chief guests on this occasion and presented degrees to the graduating students of masters and undergraduate programs.
Around 821 students got degrees. In the Masters Programs, 240 students of Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Psychology, Earth & Environmental Sciences were awarded degrees. While 581 students of Undergraduate Programs of Business Administration, Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Computer & Software Engineering, Earth & Environmental Sciences and Psychology got degrees.
The Pro-Chancellor of Bahria University, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila NI(M) and Rector of Bahria University, Vice Admiral Shahid Iqbal HI (M) presented 21 Gold medals and 14 Silver medals among talented students, who have gotten top positions in their respective disciplines. Gold medals and Silver medals were awarded to the students from each discipline to recognize their outstanding performance.
